Calories Per Day Calculator - Estimate your RMR or BMR
Use this Calories Per Day Calculator to estimate your daily calories...
The number of calories you eat every day determines whether you gain, lose, or maintain your weight. This calculator will estimate the number of calories you need to maintain your weight.
Press the Reset 'pencil eraser' icon before inserting your values.
Enter your gender, weight, height, and age. The calculator uses one of many different formulas to then estimate your resting metabolic rate (RMR) or basal metabolic rate (BMR) as it's also often referred to.
By selecting an activity level, the calculator will then determine the amount of calories you need each day to maintain your weight.
By placing your cursor over the result values indicated, you will get an idea of the activity factor represented, and the formula used to calculate RMR.
To lose weight or gain muscle, you should adjust this level accordingly.
Most people are primarily interested in weight loss.
Normally, one pound of fat represents 3500 calories, therefore, you would theoretically subtract about 500 calories from the amount indicated.
Never reduce your daily calories to below 1200 kcal without medical supervision.
Bear in mind that there exists different formulas to estimate your daily calories. I use a different one. However, all formulas are rough estimations. The nutrition calculator is simply a tool.
Remember also, that both nutrition and exercise combined together is often recommended for best results.
